Good luck to our clients & fellow project team members at the 2018 North West RICS Awards where our projects The Slate Yard, New Bailey, Timekeepers Square, and Stockport Exchange are all up for awards.
The RICS Awards recognise the most innovative projects in the region and their impact on local communities. The event coincides with RICS 150th anniversary, in which they are partnering with LandAid in their mission to end youth homelessness and provide 150 bed spaces to support young people at risk of homelessness across the UK in their Pledge150 campaign.
The ceremony takes place tonight at the Principal Hotel in Manchester and will be hosted by news broadcaster Clive Myrie.

The annual Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Gala dinner took place on Friday at Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane. Our very own Jamie Hall and Andrew Carrington were in attendance to support the event which raised an incredible £284,967 on the night. The theme for the evening was Lumière to highlight the charities aim to bring light and hope to families going through difficult times.
Ronald McDonald House Charities provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at specialist children’s hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life. Over the last 29 years they have helped tens of thousands of families during some of the toughest periods in their lives. There are currently 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK, all just moments away from their respective children’s wards, with plans for further developments well under-way.
Congratulations to all those involved and to those who attended the night for raising so much for a worthy cause!

We are advising our clients and contacts to review current and potential projects and where possible register these now before the BREEAM 2014 scheme closes. It is our experience that previous updates have resulted in more stringent requirements across the board. The uplifted cost associated with minimising energy and water consumption, reducing site waste and improving the ecological value of a development can be significant.

Hannan Associates are very pleased to be part of the next stage of Stockport Council’s Stockport Exchange development.
Our clients Muse Developments and Stockport Council have submitted a planning application for Phase 3 of the development, which includes 2 Stockport Exchange,a new six-storey Grade A office building in the heart of Stockport’s new central business district.
The building will incorporate environmentally friendly design features such as a green roof, photovoltaic panels, LED lighting and ultra-low water consuming fittings. Passive features including the use of natural daylight and enhanced building envelope minimise the building’s energy consumption and carbon emissions.
The new office will be developed next door to the recently completed One Stockport Exchange office, and is part of a masterplan that will deliver up to 375,000 sq ft of office space and 28,000 sq ft of commercial floor space. One Stockport Exchange was built by Eric Wright Group and is now fully let. The £145 million development of Stockport Exchange is a key part of the £1 billion investment programme taking place across Stockport at present building on the town’s great strengths to make it an even better place to live, work and visit.
We are pleased to be part of Muse Development’s team, who were selected as Stockport’s development partner. We join Aedas Architects, RPS Group, Gillespies and Curtins Consulting on the design team.
All the buildings have been designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating using the latest sustainability standards.
