Congratulations to our client, Muse Developments, who have been shortlisted for two awards at this year’s Insider Yorkshire Property Awards.
Muse Developments have been shortlisted for; ‘Deal of the Year’ for Premier Farnell’s move to Logic Leeds Business Park, as well as being shortlisted for ‘Developer of the Year’ at the awards ceremony being held on Thursday 20th September at New Dock Hall, Leeds.
Premier Farnell, the technology distributor, have invested in a 360,000sqft distribution unit at the business park, which will stock over 420,000 products. The unit, which is currently under construction by Bowmer and Kirkland, has been funded by Aberdeen Standard Investments and is expected to be operational by late 2019 / early 2020.
Logic Leeds Business Park consists of a 100 acre manufacturing & distribution park located within the Aire Valley Enterprise Zone. The business park provides high quality industrial & warehouse units, in a fully landscaped environment, with immediate connectivity to the M1 motorway.
Previously completed developments at Logic Leeds include; the Trilogy@Logic Development, which consists of three industrial units totalling 100,000 sqft, which have been bought by the City Council from Muse and were completed by GMI Construction in July, as well as the 50,000 sqft John Lewis customer delivery distribution hub and the 80,000 sqft Amazon distribution unit.
Hannan Associates are very proud to have worked alongside Muse Developments in delivering infrastructure masterplanning and MEP performance duties for the entire Logic Leeds Business Park scheme as well as providing Tenant Liaison duties where required.

Sunday 22nd July was the launch day for the new Steve Burne Rooms at Ronald McDonald House Manchester.
Three spaces within the existing Manchester house have been refurbished to create 3 new 6 person family bedrooms along with an external reflection area via fund raising driven by Steve Burne.
The additional bedrooms will provide over 1,000 additional nights home from home accommodation for families with children in Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Hannans were part of the construction team who donated their services for the design and construction of the refurbishment works. Due to the extent of funds raised to date, further refurbishment works are targeted at the house to create a further 2 bedrooms by converting existing laundry spaces.
The Ronald McDonald House Charity helps families to stay close to their child in hospital while they undergo medical treatment by giving them a warm and welcoming environment where they can stay for as long as they need. One of the most eco-friendly new eco-buildings in the North West is Phase 2 of the Stockport Exchange development by Muse Developments. A Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Regional Award-winner, it is in the running for a National Award in November and was described by the judges as “…the first Grade A, BREEAM Excellent, office to be speculatively developed in Stockport for many years”.
At Hannan Associates we have worked with Muse Developments and many other developers to design the most environmentally-friendly building services.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event and to celebrate, Insider has partnered with the BBC to create an additional People’s Choice Award, which will be given on the night to the finalist chosen as the North West’s Building of the Decade.

The BCO Northern Awards Dinner 2018 is taking place tonight at The Principal Hotel, Manchester and we will be there in support of our clients Muse Developments and Peaks and Plains Housing Trust and their shortlisted projects.
We are very proud to have worked on nominated projects One Stockport Exchange in the Commercial Workplace category for Muse Developments and the Fit Out of Ropewalks for Peaks and Plains Housing Trust in the projects up to 1,500m sq category.
The BCO’s respected National Awards programme recognises top quality office design and functionality and sets the standard for excellence across the office sector in the UK. Actress and presenter Jo Caulfield will be the host for the night.
Hannan Associates will be represented at the dinner by Vicky Priestley, David Green, John Walker and Jamie Hall so pop by our table and say hello.

We are very proud that two of our projects, Stockport Exchange and Timekeepers Square won their categories at the North West RICS Awards held in Manchester last week.
Stockport Exchange
Stockport Exchange, Phase 2, which our client Muse developed in partnership with Stockport Council, won the Commercial category. “RICS judges said the buildings have rejuvenated a tired and under-used leisure scheme into an attractive and vibrant new commercial quarter, and brought employment to over 250 people.”
Timekeepers Square, the second residential development in the area from the English Cities Fund – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and Homes England, won the Residential category. “RICS judges said the success of the scheme – which has acted as a catalyst for the next phase of residential development in the area – and the positive response from residents and prospective homeowners, is testament to the collaborative project team.”

Congratulations to all the winners and those shortlisted on the evening.
The event coincided with RICS 150th anniversary, in which they have set a focus to highlight their public interest responsibility with their Pledge150 campaign.
